The Two Crowns depicts St. Maximilian Kolbe in his Auschwitz prisoner uniform, holding the two crowns the Virgin Mary offered him in a vision as a child: the white crown, revealing his purity and call to the priesthood, and the red crown, revealing his call to martyrdom.

He is shown holding the uniform of the fellow prisoner whose life he saved; Kolbe gave his own life in the other man's place, and the uniforms bear the accurate prisoner numbers. Around him, the imagery recalls the parts of his life: his priesthood, his mission, and his final act of love at Auschwitz.

This professional fine art print reproduces the original painting with rich color and detail, suitable for framing and display in a prayer corner, living room, or parish space.
